Merry Christmas, beloved.
Dear Ones,
About 2000 years ago, a son was born, a child of promise. Over at “So What?” we spent weeks discussing the Tabernacle with the constant refrain, “God wants to be with his people.” There is no clearer picture of this than Christmas. God wanted to be with us so much that he took on flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14).
Would you be surprised to learn that the word for “dwelt” is the same word for the Tabernacle? John basically says, Jesus is God and tabernacles among us (John 1:14, Nika Translation).
Immanuel, God with us, means that God came to be the ultimate Tabernacle and make his home among us. God is serious about this Immanuel business.
So, this Christmas, as you take a moment to celebrate the birth of our Savior, I hope you not only marvel at it all but also receive the intolerable compliment that God so loved you that he sent his son for you to dwell with you.
God loves you. God wants to dwell with you. God came to the Earth for you. God is with you and for you, friend.
Have the Merriest Christmas available to you. May the Lord bless you immensely.
~Nika
